You need to "milk" the coconut. The white flesh of the coconut must be grated finely. For a single coconut used, you need about 1/2 a cup of warm water. Add the warm water into the grated coconut, use a muslin cloth or a fine strainer to squeeze out the coconut milk. Boil the coconut milk until the coconut oil and coconut residues separates. Cool and remove the separated oil accordingly.
