I need something close to the airport so I can get into it early in the morning, and also something cheap, well under $100 would be great.

you're not going to find cheap hotels for under $100 in Honolulu.
Your best bet would go to a home owner's bed and breakfast and stay in one of their guest rooms. These bed and breakfast places are alot cheaper than hotels and the hosts are very hospitable.
You can find cheap vacation bed and breakfast rentals in craigslist--------> http://honolulu.craigslist.org/vac/
(Contact the owners directly via email or phone requesting availability and quotes. Always go with your intuition)
*I used craigslist to find my parents in law a place to stay while they were in New York City during Christmas Vacation. They got a good deal @ $92 per night. NYC hotels are always expensive costing you around $198-$600 max!
