My cat frequents outside and last night he brought a tick in on him. I did the only thing I've been taught and grabbed as far down on the thing as I can and pulled. I squished it and flushed it down the pot. Here is the kicker--- There is this black dot/ hole there and I don't know if the sticker thing is still in there, or that is just where it was. My cat is acting a little weirder then normal-- hiding behind the couch and stuff which is not like him. Is he just freaked out, or should I be worried. Would peroxide bubble out the sticker thing if it was still in there?

1) put peroxide on the tick bite and maybe some tripple antibiotic
2) if any irritation forms take the cat to the vet
3) buy advantage or frontline from your vet or online to keep ticks off. it is easy you simple apply once a monthe and the cat is tick and flea free
4) in the future save the tick. simply fold it into a piece of tape closed on all sides and some how attact a peice of paper saying the date and where the tick was found and put it some where safe. that way, if your dog develops some kind of disease they will be able to test the tick to see if that is the source. you can throw the tick out after like two weeks

Thats not a sticker thing or a barb, thats the head of the tick. Was the head still on the tick when you pulled it out?

If the head was tapped into a vein, it may have broken loose and went to your cat's brain. This could cause a mini stroke, causing your cat to act weird.

But I wouldn't worry about it, cats can survive almost anything. However I would keep my bedroom door shut at night, you never know how a cat my react once you go to sleep.

Don't panic. If the head is still attached, it will fester, like a splinter, and work its way out. Peroxide wouldn't hurt, but it won't make the head come out. The tick is dead and cannot do anymore damage than it already has. Your cat may lose some fur around the spot that the tick was attached to, but it will grow back.

Please get your cat to the Vets !!! The head of the tick is still in him.
If this should ever happen again. Get some one to help you to wrap the cat in a towel, light a match and get it right up to the tick. This will make the tick back out . Then rub the area with rubbing alcohol .This will get the whole tick out .

Fleas are a major pest. There are various species of fleas - cat fleas, dog fleas, rat fleas and rabbit fleas.
You can get rid of them by the safest and cheapest methods like boric acid.
