I have a appointment for her on thursday, they told me she cant eat 8 hours before dropping her off.And I will be able to pick her up later in the afternoon. Anyone have any suggestions? What can I do to comfort her? Will she be in alot of pain? Is her personality going to change after this? I feel so bad for her now, she seems as if shes in pain or so uncomfortable now being in heat, she crys so loud and rubs her head and body on the floor, my poor baby.

My kitten is named Chloe too and she was spayed two weeks ago. (Girls get spayed.) So far I haven't noticed any personality changes.

When I brought her home she was really out of it, sort of just staring off into space. I left her in her carrier for about an hour, until she started to wake up a bit. She drank much earlier in the day then she ate (I was told to wait 6 hours to try feeding, but to give her water when she woke up ) and spent most of the day curled up around the toilet sleeping.

That night I gave her half a teaspoon of tuna mixed with maybe two tablespoons of her normal food to entice her to eat, and she did but only a little.

About 3 days later she was back to her old self!

The vet/clinic you take her to should give you pretty thorough written instructions and answer any questions you have. Ask whatever you need to, and don't feel like you have to leave until you're satisfied.

You can get painkillers from your vet if you’re really worried.

The need for them is debatable, but you can get them.

When you get your cat home, feed her small meals frequently. One large meal is likely to make her throw up.

Keep her warm, and leave her sleep when she wants to sleep.

Try to keep her quiet for around three days… in my experience, cats will start leaping and playing again on day two, and much human panicking will ensue…

Most importantly, talk to your vet.
Ask them what to expect, and how to treat your cat. Follow any and all directions they give you, even if it contradicts what you’ve read here.

All my cats have been neutered/spayed before they’re 12 weeks old, so I’m not sure what behaviours actually change.
In theory, male cats are less aggressive, and less likely to pee everywhere and female cats are a bit more settled. (My neutered male cat beat up Rottweilers, and peed on everything he could, and my spayed female cat is a maniac… the theory isn’t really all that sound in my opinion.)

O.K., first....she can't be neutered...she can be spayed......
Try to keep her as quiet as possible when you pick her up from the vet. If you have other animals, keep her separate for awhile. She needs time to heal, watch for redness around the incision and let your vet know if this happens. Her personality changes will not likely even be noticeable, but I am sure you will enjoy the fact that she won't be going into heat anymore. Good luck, and remember she will know if you are stressed, so try and spend sometime relaxing with her.

There is nothing you can do to for her being in heat except shower her in attention. My kitten is just getting over it. I felt awful but a few days later she was fine. Spaying is a good thing and aside from being sore for a few days and maybe groggy on the first day she'll be normal after that.

First off she is being spayed, she will be a little tender after the surgery but overall will be fine. An I've found that it just depends on the cat as to whether or not the personality changes. Thank you for spaying your cat!

She will be fine. She will be sleepy for the first day anyway and honestly she will be bouncing around again in no time. She will be a little sore for the first couple of days and will wants lots of attention and love but apart from that it is really the best solution and in 10 days and her stitches are out you will forget she even had it done.

all of my pets are neutered, it just nocks them out for a while, and then they are a little strange, but they ghet over it pretty fast. My dogs name is Chloe, I love that name! When she was neutered, she had an infection, and she still ahs the scar. Dont worry, she will be fine...

good luck

She's just horny. I would brush her and talk to her a lot when she comes home. Pet her and love on her. Rub a toy with catnip also, that will make her soooo happy.
