Most people don't, but a significant minority do! In the opinion of many in the racing world, "Ladies Day", at any course, is the worst thing to happen to racing!

Many courses now hold a Ladies Day: Ascot, Aintree, Epsom and Newmarket amongst the bigger ones, and the focus seems to be shifting away from those of us that go racing to see the horses and enjoy high-quality racing, and more and more is being done for those who want to get drunk.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a lady and I enjoy a drink as much as the next person, but there is a time and a place. Besides, racecourses are an expensive place to drink (£4,50 for a glass of Pimms anyone?!). If you want to get drunk, go to the local pub and leave us racegoers in peace!
