Last year I went to an endocrinologist and he found nothing. Today I ask my primary to Rx it but he wants me to see a specialist again this year who will want to run the same tests over again that he just ran. Very time consuming and expensive to duplicate the tests with low expectations if last year repeats itself. Any suggestions?

Even people who have been on thyroid medication for years are encouraged to get their thyroids tested once a year to ensure the correct dosage. I have to agree with your doctor that you should go get it tested again.

I guess it depends on what symptoms you have, and whether or not its worth it to take the chance on a wasted visit for the possibility of treating your symptoms. If you can put up with the symptoms and if you are not at risk of a heart attack, leaving a hyperthyroid condition won't hurt you, unless the thyroid condition is a symptom of some other problem - then you could be screwed.
