Nobody thinks there too cruel. If people thought that they wouldn't watch it. People want them to be mean, that's what they tune into the show for. Well, at the beginning anyway.
What is even sicker is that people go on there trying to be outrageous and claim it is just the way they are and they think they're just that good. Why do they do this? They do it for the fact that William Hung made some money by doing his lil bit. People will continue to do this, just to hope that maybe they get some work out of it or make some money. And as long as people encourage this behavior then there will be more and more showing up.

Well, isn't it a shame that the more people are cruel the better the ratings are?? Just look at the View (or better than that, DON'T)!! It's sad to think that the American people get so much joy from seeing the more powerful people (the judges on american idol) hurt and demean people who are "just trying"!! I'd never get in their faces--even if I could sing!! YES, they gone overboard!!! I quit watching!!

It always has been that way. Just think, why do they put people who are unable to sing or act weird delibrately on the show? Why don't they just accept those who are capable of singing? Well, its no surprise. They put people who can't sing so that the judges can give them bad comments and be embrassed on national tv. So that the viewers can enjoy watching it and boost the show's rating.

I do not think that they have gotten too cruel. I think that they are being honest and that they are also being much nicer than I would be.

I don't think so, besides some of the people need to accept the truth instead of living in la la land.

if yu know u cant sing and you go on the show for attention and these people have spent all day listneing to crap then you deserve to get embarrassed. we live in a society where kids dont want to work hard in school. they think theyre going to go on this show,or become a rapper, or play in the NBA, and they dont need school and all their problems will be solved, and they can be on MTV cribs....and they end up working in porn, stripping,in prison,or working in wallmart

I don't think so. I think some people really just want their 15 minutes of fame, and they know they don't have any talent.
