Your life is what you will it to be, what others say matters, but not as much as what you say. I can say yes, or I can say no in an attempt to sway your decision. Tell me, do YOU think that you could make a life as an artist?

Its a dog eat dog world. Becoming a artist is as hard as becoming a singer or actress. But if you really have the heart for it dont let nothing stop you. Id work a job on the side while your a struggling artist.Have you considered art school?

Im in college for buisness and plan to be a buisness instructor or professor when im done. BUt i still have plans to write my book one day. I been workin on it for years! But i have a back up plan incase no one likes my ideas! Something to think bout if you go to art school and you dont make it as a artist you could always teach art or work with art! BEST OF LUCk

It is very hard to be a freelance artist. It matters not how good you are at your work. Making a living at art is more about being able to sell yourself than just being a good artist. You have to be very good at business, art and sales. You have to balance your time amongst all three things and others to be successful. Obviously you need the time to create. You also need to time to sell your work and make your work the most desired to get the best price. If you have a good PR person, almost anything is possible. Good luck and do not give up on your dream.

Do you paint?

Make prints of your paintings, they are your cash cow. Keep the original paintings for shows. Create art in a varity of mediums, like painting & sculpture. If you have a unique style of painting, what would it look like in a sculpture? Always remember to keep changing, exploring new ideas and concepts or else art gets really boring fast.

You can make a living out of anything, if you have great passion. Good luck!

It depends on how you define making a living. For every Warhol there are hundreds of thousands of "starving artists" no one's ever heard of. Make sure you've got a good education to back yourself up.
