Pitts are gasy dogs. Go to Petsmart and get gas relief. I believe its around $13.00. Change his food, my vet told me that food with more rice in it will make him less gasy. What ever you do, do NOT give him hot dogs. He will be clearing a room for days to come. LOL

If your dog has a lot of gas all the time he may need a different diet. I have a Pit mix that did not tolerate dog foods with chicken or lamb so I got her a food with an alternative meat source and she tolerates that well. She eats Nature's Recipe Venison and Rice which also has no wheat in it. It's an excellent food. Dick Van Patten's Natural Balance also has a Venison and Potato dog food that is excellent as well. Sometimes the alternative meat source makes a big difference if your dog has a sensitive stomach. Also, pay attn. to what treats you give your dog. There are many out there that are kind of spongy in texture and full of dye, like fake steaks and bacon etc. They could cause a problem too.
If you decide to change your dog's food, remember to do it gradually and that the problem won't necessarily be eliminated until the dog adjusts to the new food.

First, make sure you are feeding a super premium brand of dog food (ie. Innova, Petcurean, Blue Buffalo, Canidae, Solid Gold, etc.). Second, make sure your guy is getting plenty of exercise. I have a doberman (a notoriously gassy breed) and talked to my vet because I was concerned about a few occasions of trapped gas which were obviously uncomfortable for my guy. My vet said walks & gentle massage of the belly to get the gas moving along. I know your guy has no problems with this (lol), but she added that Gas-X as a last resort would be fine. Doubt that beano would help, as that is more of a pre-emptive measure. You might also try adding a dollop of plain, nonfat yogurt to his diet to help improve digestion. Good luck!

You're dog will die! Just a few weeks ago some1 asked on questions if they could give their cat beano and I told them exactly what is in beano. The affects on your dog from the ingridents in gas-x could eat away at your dogs stomach and may kill him!
The active ingredient in Beano tablets is alpha-galactosidase enzyme
(derived from aspergillus nigrate) - 150 GALU per tablet.
The inactive ingredients in Beano tablets include the following:
Cellulose gel
Mannitol
Invertase (enzyme)
Potato starch
Magnesium stearate
Gelatin (derived from fish)
Colloidal silica
The active ingredient in Beano liquid is also alpha-galactosidase enzyme
(see above).
The inactive ingredients in Beano liquid include:
Water (purified)
Xylitol
Invertase (enzyme)
Disodium citrate
Gelatin (derived from fish)
Potassium sorbate
Hope this stirs you away from giving your dog gas-x or beano!

No you can't!
Check out his food. If it has soy or corn in the first 10 ingredients, that is your problem. He probably has a food allergy.
My one pup has the same problem. I changed her food to a high quality food that doesn't have corn or soy, and she no longer has the gas!
Good luck!
