He does well with his stool, using a doggie box, but prefers to lift his leg and urinate an a bathroom door, a wood door jam and the wood bath sink cabinet. I've tried all I know, Apple bitter, pet odor control products, scolding to no avail. He's also marked a plush chair and the skirt of a couch- Ready to tie a string in it! HELP

Get him fixed!! a male dog marks what he thinks is his, u must catch him marking the sofa ect... a firm NO and a touch on his neck like what his mom would do, take him to where its to be done. you must catch him.
Vinegar and water spray or in a carpet cleaning machine works wonders on pet stains and smells...your house will smell like a pickle for a day or so, but animals hate how strong it is. and will not mark on it again

Please get him de nutted though it not only saves lives but it calms the dog down to a point and his bad male traits will be subdued.

Getting him fixed will not change his size... that is in his GENES he will not get any bigger or smaller if you get him fixed and breeding should be left to the experts.
however waiting to get him fixed will not help much in the temperment and marking.

hope that helps

Neuter him, and then provide proper leadership.

With somebody the right age in the family, 4-H dog training is a great idea.
In my area, clubs form soon after the first of the year. Even many urban
areas have 4-H. For info look in your phone book under government listings
for extension or cooperative extension offices. Ask specifically about a dog
or canine club. The dogs see all the people and dogs in the household as a
pack with each having their own rank in the pack and a top dog. Life is much
easier if the 2 legged pack members outrank the 4 legged ones. You can learn
to play the role of top dog by reading some books or going to a good obedience
class. A good obedience class or book is about you being top dog, not about rewarding standard commands a treat. Start at http://www.dogsbestfriend.com/

He is young enough that if you neuter this dog, he may cease lifting his leg indoors.

Let him out more often.

Neuter him.

No water after 6 pm.

I hope it helps!

is he neutered? if not and you dont plan on neutering him as you might want to breed, then get used to it. if you are going to neuter then get it done, he is obviously feeling his hormones so do it and give it about a month you should notice a difference. if you are not going to neuter then he may or may not stop this behavior with training

Catch him doing it and rub his nose in it, then put him outside. It is a simple solution that almost always works.

NUETER. A MIRACLE.

Not only does it work wonders for your problem. But it really is humane to keep all our pets spayed and nuetered.

IF YOU HAVE A PURE BRED PUPPY, DO NOT NEUTER HIM UNTIL HE IS FULLY GROWN. DOING SO PREMATURELY WILL CAUSE HIM TO BECOME BIGGER THAN THE NORMAL SIZE OF THE BREED.

Omg, get him fixed! 7 months old is the right time for this and I guarantee it will stop!
