What is the best country in the Caribbean to study abroad for a year? I will be 16/17 when I am there.

I would say Cozumel and/or the Virgin Islands. Those all speak English as a first language (yes Cozumel may be in Mexico, but more residents speak English than Spanish due to the tourism industry)--which unless you are studying spanish or fluent yourself would be important in where you study abroad.

Cozumel and St Thomas in the VI also are wonderful because if you are going to be living there for a year, certain amenities are important. St Thomas has a Kmart; Cozumel has multiple places including a Sam's Club and a Walmart. When you need the basics like toothpaste and deodorant, those one-stop shopping places are quite nice. I passed by Cozumel's university while there and it was newly renovated.

However, St Martin's does allow you to drink at 16--if that is one of your considerations.

Kind of depends on what you are going to be studying actually.
