Pressing the lock button on my F.O.B. will make the lights flash, but won't lock the doors. The factory alarm seems to activate but the locks won't go to the down position. I have to manually push them down. I've had several mustangs in the past but this is the first one to exhibit this.

sounds as is the factory keyless powers the actuators via a relay.A relay is nothing more than an electrically activated switch.

I'm guessing that the contacts inside your relay are intimately hanging up, I bet a quick trip to the dealer an swapping out the relays will rectify your problem.

IF it's a 2005 bring it to the dealer as it uses a module to lock and unlock the doors and apparently something isn't causing the voltage to lock... It's more complicated than trying to explain on here (my guess is wire broke or module went into brain fart mode)

How Funny! I just traded my black 2005 Mustang in for a 2006 For Escape because of that. The smart junction box in my car messed up, and then my ignition went crazy. I went out one night and my keyless entry wouldn't work so I stuck my key in the door and turned it and guess what?.....................even my key wouldn't open my door! I had to call my gma @ ten o'clock p.m. to come and pick me up @ sweet bay! They couldn't fix it I had it towed twice and it had been to the ford place twice and they still didn't fix it. So I got pissed and traded it in, but I love my Escape it is so roomy. Plus my warranty was almost out It had 34,000 mile on my car when I got rid of it. And another thing that sucks is you can't use your key on the passenger side because there is no key hole on that side of the car. It gets cold where I live so I thought my locks were froze up, but no they were messed up! Its crazy when your key won't even unlock your car door and your 50 miles away from your house! so Good Luck! p.s. get rid of it you'll wish you had of when your warranty runs out and you have to pay $3 dollars a mile to have it towed and buy a new ignition and computer. (thats not cheap) yeah and before my junction box went out my car did exactly what yours is doing but I just thought my batteries were dead my spare set wouldn't even work! sorry this is so long but it's true. I still love ford so trade it in

Do the door locks lock with the driver side switch....or must you lock them manually all the time?

Door lock actuators need to be changed

You need to take your car into the dealer, you should still be under warranty if you are under 36,000 miles. If you are over 36,000 miles call the dealer before you go in and ask them what they would charge to check it out.
