Yeah, this question probably made you say "Woah...freaky." I was just having a conversation with a friend today and we got into fighting about whether it's right or wrong to kill somebody. What is your opinion, is it right or wrong and why? This is not necessarily a yes or no question.

I'm being serious, I would never kill anybody because personally I think it's wrong. I don't think that it's always wrong to kill somebody though. It absolutely depends on the situation.

Say for instance you had the chance to go back in time and kill Hitler. Would you do it? You are saving thousands of lives if you do. I would think you would feel obligated to.

Depends on WHO and WHY.

Before World War II, someone went into the British Foreign Office and offerred to kill Hitler. They said NO. How many lives and how much destruction would have been saved, if Hitler had been killed BEFORE World War II?

But who makes the decisions to kill? And what actions justifies killing someone?

Consider executions in America. Some say its cruel and inhuman punishment. Now consider it from a 2nd angle. Some people are sexually abused as children. As they grow, they have learned that the only way to have sex is to be abusive. So they start abusing someone. Evenutally, they get caught and go to prison. But evenutally they get out of prison. Federal Dept of Justice research shows on average 1 in 3 inmates goes back to prison. But for a sex offender - its 6 out of 10 goes back to prison.

And a sex offender, from a study by the Center for Sex Offender Management, averages sexually abusing someone every 8 days while not in prison. How many people are sexually abused, some even killed, before the sexual predator is caught again?

Many prisons are overcrowded and the number of inmates greatly outnumbers the number of guards. Sometimes inmates get into fights. Sometimes they attack guards. Being a guard is a low paying job and its dangerous. In prisons, there is often 2 inmates per cell. In some prisons, there are 100 inmates in a barrack (like in the army). If the inmates get into a fight, should a guard be sent in - and put his/her life at risk to stop the fight? What if the guard gets hurt or killed? And some inmates will attack a guard so the other inmates will respect them.

Sexual predators - as a rule - do not change. They will hunt for someone - anyone - to sexually abuse. Should society let them out of prison? Or should society raise taxes to pay to keep them in prison for the rest of their lives (free food, medical, etc). while the person paying those taxes has to work to buy their own food, medicine, etc.

Or should society spend the money to execute the sexual predator and take the money saved and spend it on social services to young kids who have been identified as sexually abused - to break the cyle of creating more sexual abusers? Or is it "wrong" to kill these people?

Some people are just so evil, you should never trust them - like the famous serial killer Ted Bundy (did what - killed over 30 girls). Should he ever be let out of prison? Or should we pay to keep him in prison for the rest of his life (average lifespan of a male is to age 90). How many years would that be? 40? 50? That's a lot of money. Or should he be executed? (He was executed.)

PS,
In some states, they have passed new laws that sexual predators - after serving their time in prison - are declared mentally ill - and are kept for the rest of their life in a mental institution.

PS - JAN 23rd - ADDED
Check out the story below and ask yourself - should they be on the street, in prison, or executed?

if your in conflict i do no longer think of it extremely is incorrect. interior the Bible God informed his human beings to circulate to conflict and triumph over international locations that had grow to be corrupted. think of approximately it if no person grow to be ever corrupted and evil then we does no longer even could desire to circulate to conflict yet through Adam and Eve's sin there are human beings interior the international who will end at no longer something to earnings power (and particular that contains bombing us). If all of us merely permit that stuff go and we did no longer visit conflict we could all be ruled by skill of a dictatorship remarkable now (i do no longer understand approximately you yet that would not seem as though exciting to me).

ok...you are wierd...yes it is wrong to take a person's life...for starters, God told humans that it is wrong...you can go to jail for it in most instances...human life is precious, and no amount of reasoning can disagree with that...only hatred or selfishness would allow a person to think that any form of murder is ok
