It kind of makes you want to staple their pajamas to the bed doesn't it? It is a proven fact that there is a chemical in milk, turkey, and apples that promotes healthy sleeping. Give them a "snack" before bed and that may help. Also if you will take them for a walk before they get ready for bed it makes them tired. Also (yes it sounds weird) but if they get out of bed when you ask them not to, stand them up facing toward the wall with their noses barely touching it. Don't let them move at all while they are standing there. It makes them so tired after five minutes they are begging for bed!!!

I hope this will help.I watched THE NANNY and there was a couple with the same problem. They continued for a few nights to keep putting the kids back in their beds.It took them 45 minutes! Yet, at the end of a few days, the kids went to bed.It is about letting them know firmly but not crazily that you are in control and they are not.How long have you simply put them back into the bed and said something like "It is time for you to sleep". Even if it takes you and your husband an hour, for three nights-wouldn't it be worth it? I know you probably wanted a magic potion! I wish I could give it!Consistency and not losing your cool

Well, My parents use to beat my ***, But since I swore never to do that to my kids, I came up with my own thing, It may not work for you but it did for me, I took a Radio in the room, And turned on the kids favorite music( not loud ) just so they could hear it, I told them as long as they would stay in the bed and were quite I would leave it on, If they got up I would take it out, They would fall asleep listening to it, Then I would go in the room and turn it off before I went to bed, Worked like a charm, Hope it works for you, Good luck..

With my kids when they get out of bed, I listen to their first story/complaint whatever then take them back to bed and tell them its bedtime and they need to sleep and I dont want to hear another word. They can tell me in the morning. If they get out again I point to the bedroom and dont say anything, I follow them in after a few minutes if they ahvent settled down and tell them that if they come out again or I hear anyone being silly I will take away their lamp. They stay in bed after that.

I usually sit there until they fall asleep so they won't get up or come up with anything to say like he called me ___ and try giving them water or milk so they can't say they are thirsty
