Going to the dentist is so expensive and some times you need to budget in so you can't just pop to one when you need one.
You can go to the chemist and they have sore tooth ache drops and more recently you can buy a tooth pain kit for about $11(aus)
they only recommend you use it for 2 days (I think it contains a temporary filling gue to cover the nerve) but if you need to use it for a few weeks I can't see how it would hurt.
I'd gargle with warm salt water, sleep on a hot water bottle covered in a tea towel pushing down the cheek containing sore tooth. Try bonjella (baby teething gel) to numb the gum.
Experiment a little. But remember tooth aches most of a night and chemists are normally shut by then. Prepare ahead.

It may taste gross, but put an aspirin on your tooth till it melts.
Sorry for r pain. There's also some red freezing stuff that may last longer?
