well if u want a big mess to wash down the drain in your sink go ahead and try what u please then when u don't have any hair to work with who u gonna call on then!!!!???? Just pay attention ok?number 1 deep condition until u think your hair is strong enough to handle what i'm gonna tell u next. number 2 go to a beauty supply store and see if they will let you buy a perm (i know it sounds crazy but i am a hairdresser of 30 yrs so) when u get through if they dont let u just go to a drug store and buy a home perm and wash your hair and use conditioner and rinse then take a wide tooth comb and run the perm solution over your hair and comb it until it looks like u want it rinse then take the neutralizer and comb it through your hair and leave it on for 5 minutes rinse and then add a deep conditioner on your hair leave approximately 30 minutes ok number three go to a salon and have the ends trimmed and continue with the deep conditoning at least once a week and you should be fine and number 4 whatever u do dont do any of the above if you have bleach or color on your hair let it rest for heaven's sake!!!!!

Wash it a few times if you have got in within the week, otherwise heat some olive oil to very warm on the stove or in the microwave. Apply this to dry hair till it drips. Then wrap hair in plastic wrap or put on a shower cap and a towel overtop. Leave on as long as possible. Do this overnight if possible, or a few times at a few hrs each time. Wash and repeat in morning. The oil will pull the perm out. That's why people with very oily hair don't hold a perm as long. It will also condition if the perm made it frizzy.

Sorry ALA but not nessisarily so. You could actually shampoo your hair right after a perm and it wouldn't take the curls out, it may just loosen them a bit. When you've neutrilized a perm, this is the action that re-hardens the hair. The first solution that goes on is what softens your hair. Basically, there's not a whole lot you can do. If you had it done at a salon, go back to the salon and let them know that you're not happy with what you've had done.
As a stylist, I would welcome it since I want to keep my clients happy and I'll bend over backwards to do so. They can help you.
If you've done it yourself, you're in for a long road ahead. Either get reaquainted with your curling iron or find yourself a nice hat!
Hope you didn't do it yourself!
Good luck with it! let us know how you make out.

If it was just done within the past 24 hours you can deactivate the perm by washing your hair.

You can buy a relaxer at any grocery stores but you would want to wait a little bit so it does not majorly damage your hair since perms do a lot of damage.
