What would happen if i struck a match in a room filled with hydrogen?

I have been told that in theory if it were pure hydrogen and nothing else then nothing would happen, due to the fact that there would be no oxidizer to fuel any kind of combustion reaction.

I don't know how true this is because i've never tried to ignite pure hydrogen without any oxygen present. The theory seems to make sense, although i have done alot of research with H2 and O2 in varying proportions and i happen to know that 6:1 H:O is the most explosive and is actually what is used in the space shuttle main engines. I have had the experience of accidentally blowing myself accross my laboratory with it when a small test sample escaped it's container and was ignited by a small electrical spark. Needless to say, it wasn't the most enjoyable experience of my life, and i don't recomend it.
For that matter, don't even experiment with the stuff unless you are using a vented hood rated for combustion experiments, and are under the supervision of a professional chemist. Otherwise, it may very well be the last thing you ever do!

You cannot strike a match inside a room full of hydrogen because the match would have freeze and unable to be lighted.

Nothing wil happen becoz u cant burn the match in the absence of oxygen........neway god knws wat wil hapen if u stay in a Hydrogen filled room...but no prob with match atleast...;-)
