It is now 1030pm the first kitten is doing fine but i can feel two more well at least two more in her and she is really showing no signs of contractions like she did with the first one. Is this normal i heard that the most between births is four hours. and she is well past that. Im not quiet sure what to do. Take her to the vet is an obviouse answer but none are open this late at night so dont tell me that i need a practical answer if this is normal or what i need to do. thnx need all the help i can get on this one.

try massaging her belly! are you sure there is not a vet hospital near you, not trying to be smart, just making sure, maybe there is one in whitepages.com you can call to get some pro advice.

I have had a dog go awhile between pups however four and a half hours seems excessive. My vet wanted to further induce her after 2 hours. I know you don't want to hear this but the practical and safest answer is call a vet. Most areas have emergency services. Your cats labor may have to be re-induced. Normally this only requires a shot. I hope you find your answer and good luck.

Take her to the vet ASAP if she does not give birth to more kittens within 1hr.I had this happen to my dog,she has gang green, and she almost died, and all the puppies did die.Try giving water, and maybe leave her alone and turn off the lights, and give privacy, some cats have nervous problems, and need privacy at a time like this.Like I said leave her alone and give water, moniter her and the kitten.Take her to the vet in the morning if she hasn't given birth to more in the next hour.

My cat had a stillborn baby. IT was obvious she was still pregnant. Hours later she still hadn't had any. I called my vet and they said that sometimes a first time mom will go for many hours without having more kittens.
24 hours later, she still hadn't had any more. I called back and they said to bring her in immediately. they had to do an emergency spay or c-section. They found a ball of dead kittens inside her. They told me that if I'd waited too much longer it probably would've killed her.
I think you are safe to wait til morning, but if you know there are more kittens, definitely get her to a vet as soon as you can.

So sorry you don't want to hear take her to a vet BUT don't you have an emergency vet clinic near you? Check your yellow pages. If the first kitten's nursing hasn't continued the labor to bring out any others, the others may die inside your cat and then she'll die. Check your yellow pages for an emergency vet.

I think it must depend a lot on several things. Is this the cats 1st litter? How old is she? Does she seem to be in distress?? I used to breed persian cats, have several cats outside now, and to me it seems cats are a lot like any other female giving birth, its never the same. If you like you can contact me on yahoo, good luck. sugar_3717

I would call an emergency vet number. I would hate to think one is stuck in there. I'm sorry, it's the only advice I can think to give. I hope all goes well and good luck!

if i were you, i would drive the queen (cat) to a veterinary hospital everywhere i could find because if your cat just stopped giving birth after delivering 1 kitten and you believe there are still kittens inside her..She would get a "prenancy shock", its a term given by the veterinarian where the mother cat would get low body temperature and she may die too! please try to help her.
