I think you m ay have developed an unwitting chemical dependancy. Keep in mind that sleeping pills are very habit forming, and if you are taking 3+ a night, then you need to go see a doctor immediatley. By the way, this cart, that you listed, really is a blueprint for death. Most people can and will overdose after 6 or 7 pills. Remember, that if you are "knocked out cold", you are comoletley unaware of what your body is doing and weather or not you are in trouble. You will not be aware of your body temperature slowly dropping due to the decreased blood flow, you will not be aware of your heartbeat increasing, trying to supply your vital organs with blood and fighting the drug, you will not notice your breathing slowly diminishing, as your respitory system fails...You are going to wind up becoming a vegtable or killing yourself.
Be careful, these pills are way more dangerous than you think

You should ONLY follow the manufacturer's directions on the bottle. Do not take more than recommended. Pills take a while to kick in (say 30 mins+). Consult your doctor if you need something stronger. Do not take anymore of those pills if they don't make you sleepy after 2 pills. The OTC pills are to make you feel a little sleepy, not knock you out. You are expecting the pills to knock you off your feet and make you fall right into bed and out light you were knocked in the head. The pills WON'T DO THAT.
So tomorrow call a doctor and set up an appointment if you need a sleeping aid. For now call a 24 hr pharmacy and talk to the pharmacist.

Well, first of all. this isn't uncommon for kids your age. Look at what you're eating and drinking during the day. If you are drinking more than one soda or ANY energy drinks, or coffee, iced coffee, tea, iced tea (sweet tea), anything with caffeine in it, stop. Caffeine stays in your system for quite a while, and will keep you up at night. So will anything with sugar. That means if you snack on ice cream or any kind of candy, especially chocolate, or cookies - that will all keep you wide awake. Video games and computer use will also keep you up, as will action movies. The overload of information your brain is subjected to online or with a video or game will get it all fired up, and not let you settled down. It's like revving up an engine. Sometimes even reading a book will do that too. You need a nighttime routine that lets you relax without giving your brain too much to do. Slower music or a TV program that ends at a particular time, and a timer so your TV turns itself off. Make sure you are NOT propped up on pillows, and your lights are out. You might also take an evening walk after dinner, so you have had a little fresh air and exercise, or take a hot shower. At least one hour before you go to bed, make a list for the morning, so you don't need to carry all of that around in your head. Keep this routine as much as possible. No caffeine after breakfast, and really you shouldn't be having any at all. No sugar or snacks after dinner, and a walk. If that doesn't work, speak to your doctor, but I bet it will.

What do you think you're doing playing with your health like that?! Even over-the-counter pills have side effects. You can damage your internal organs doing that. You can even die.
No sleeping pill will make you sleepy if you sit up and fight it. You're supposed to turn the lights off and try to go to sleep.

you're kidding, right? why would you want to take 3 sleeping pills? they're probably making you restless as weird as that sounds. try reading to get drowsy...seems to work for me. And I would suggest not taking 5 or 6. Talk about your all time backfires that would be.
