Vomiting and diarrhea with possibly a fever. It can last for one to three days. It is transmitted the same way the flu is through contact with things someone infected touched. The best way to avoid it would be to wash your hands before eating. Even then it is in the air if you are in close contact with someone in the family who is sick it is very likely you will get it too. Happened to all in our house this Fall.

It is an intestinal virus that can affect the stomach as well as the lower intestines, and cause diarrhea and vomiting.
Like most viruses, it can be transmitted through the skin, in the way of passing germs by contact with an infected person.
I always try and watch my hands after a handshake, and definitely after using the restroom.
Viruses can also be transmitted through mucus such as someone coughing or sneezing in your path. Again always wash your hands if you can with an antibacterial soap. Every little bit that you can do helps.
But if your resistance is down, you're liable to catch a cold, flu, or virus.
So get plenty of rest, eat a good balanced diet, keep warm, and try to avoid getting too close to people that have the flu or a virus. Always a safe bet.

There is no stomach bug or stomach flu. It's gastroenteritis and it's bacterial. It's transmitted through contaminated food, drink or via unwashed hands. And it's common.
Viruses do not come through the skin. Where did that woman come up with this???

The stomach bug/flu is generally a viral illness. It can be contracted by direct contact with an infected person, or from something they have handled.
