I'd go to the Atkins website. I just wanted to say that the diet might not be right for EVERYONE but it doesn't mean that it does not work. My father-in-law lost 145 pounds on this diet and has kept it off for over 4 years. Once you are past the induction phase just cut out all the whites and you'll be fine. No pasta, bread, potatoes, etc. Those are the bad carbs.

You should go to lowcarbfriends.org
It's a great site and it's free. If you are preggo or breastfeeding there is a thread there just for that. This site has all kinds of great information on Atkins and other popular low carb plans as well as experienced people that have successfully lost weight. you can go there and read all about it and ask lots of questions. Everyone there is alway willing to help someone out and answer questions. The best advice I can give you is when you go on a low carb diet is to really read the rules and stick w/ them. That's how you get results. It's a great way to lose weight. You'll enjoy a basic unlimited amounts of meat, eggs and a limited amount of veggies. On low carb diets you will have a higher percentage of fat and protein and that's how your gonna lose weight. Just remember you really have to stick by the rules.

If i were you i would just go on a good old fashion diet with healty foods, and exercise! The Atkins Diet, just like ALL the others is a temporary fix, this is a diet you would have to consider being on for the rest of your life, because once you finish this diet, the weight will come back. It's better to just lose it the right way, the first time!

Atkins is unhealthy and only a quick fix. Our bodies need good carbs. All the weight will return if you ever stop.

This diet is not healthy at all and is really hard to stick to. It gives you bad breath and if you cheat on the diet you gain a ton of weight. Your body needs carbs to function properly.
