If it is sinful to believe in superstition, then why does religion exist when it in itself is Superstition?

Your own definition of "superstition" is your answer.

Religion is not necessarily ignorant, fear of the unknown, or trust in magic or chance. That is just YOUR belief. Millions think otherwise.

Superstition is an instilled fear to force one to perform certain actions in order to throw the fear away. It's actually quite hilarious with people afraid of spilling salt.
