Give it all, like one answer said, He doesn't want your money, He wants you. The Christian Church does not sacrifice animals, worship on Saturdays, follow the Old Testament heavy rules except tithing. Why is that?? Because they want to extract your money thru coercion. See the beautiful churches, temples, the Mormons build. They enforce the rule of tithing with an iron fist. See what has happened in the Catholic Church because the people tithe and dare not ask questions. If God guides, God provides. But has the leadrship have that kind of faith? They would do much better financially with a congregation following the 2nd.comandment that Jesus perscribed. Love thy neighbor as thyself.

Uncle. I probably paddled by canoe around yours a million times. I've seen the results of tithing and know why Jesus did not specify it. It is man's method, not God's.

The reason the Christian Church doesn't follow the Old Testament laws (sacrifices, uncleanness, etc.) is because Jesus' death & resurrection (I.e. the 'last sacrifice') made them meaningless.
Hebrews 8:13 - 'By calling this covenant "new," he has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and aging will soon disappear.'
Also, I'm not sure if you picked the best examples - the Mormons are a cult, not part of the Christian church. And what happened in the corrupt pre-Reformation Catholic Church is several hundred years in the past.
The idea of tithing is to offer your "firstfruits" to God - as a spiritual discipline or act of thanksgiving...not some attempt by the Church to squeeze more money out of your pockets.

You sound like a young person living with his parents. You sure know how to spend their money and how to spend their time. We will see if you change your tune once you are "paddling your own canoe". - Old American Indian Maxim.
