First, if the person in question doesn't believe the Bible is trustworthy, show them that the Bible is THE most historically backed-up, reliable ancient document that exists - by a long shot. Then point out that Jesus is the only person in history that fulfilled each and every one of the Messianic prophecies in the Old Testament - and there's over a hundred of them! (For example, that he would be born in Bethlehem, that his clothes would be divided...David even predicted that he'd be crucified, and crucifixion hadn't even been invented yet!)
There's just nobody else who fits those criteria.
Hope that helps

You can be skeptical and still be convinced. I think many people who asked Christ into their life had some doubt, but they also had the hope that Jesus was who He said that He was, and that He did what He said that He had done. Repentance for sin implies agreement that one is a sinner.. something many people do not want to face or accept.

Personally, I had to come to the decision to cross over the line I had drawn for myself about how far I was willing to believe in Christianity. I figured I could always go back to what I already believed if I did not like what I would find or experience. If I was to give it the same amount of investigation that I had done with other beliefs, I had to at least agree with the basic core belief.. that I was indeed a sinner, and that Jesus could indeed save me from my sin. I had to accept the possibility that it was true.

I have found that the statement Jesus made, that He is the way, truth, and life, was indeed true. None of the other paths I had taken had proved itself to be this real and true. Through Christ, I found myself confronted with the living God, a reality beyond hopeful speculation. I found, as have millions of other people, that Jesus Christ IS the Messiah. Please email me if ou have any questions. I would be glad to help you in anyway that I can.

First, realize that 'you' can't convince someone... that is the job of the Holy Spirit... pray and allow God to work in the individual's life.

With that in mind, you can be a tool for the Holy Spirit's work. As God softens their heart and works in their life, you can be open to sharing the Good News and offering information or direction. So don't be frustrated because they are skeptical or unbelieving, but leave it in God's hands for Him to do His good work.

You can equip yourself with some facts to share that Jesus was the Messiah. Here are some of my favorites:

The Bethlehem Star video
This is an incredible video that shows what happened in the heavens (stars) at the birth and death of Jesus. God ordered the stars and He used them to announce Jesus was the Messiah. Using modern computers and astronomy (not astrology) software to plot the positions and motions of the stars, the video is VERY powerful! You can order the video at:
http://filmbaby.com/
or visit the creator's website at:
http://bethlehemstar.net/

Daniel 9
The Prophet Daniel wrote prophesies about the coming of the Messiah in Daniel 9. The Jews were aware of his prophesies (and so were the Magi) and based on Daniel 9, they had a clue as to when he would come. We can see evidence that Jesus was the Messiah because we know that Daniel was written 500 years before Jesus was born -- and the prophesies are very accurate (even to the day). Here is a good site to dig deeper:

(Interestingly, the evidence from the Star of Bethlehem video and the dating of Christ's appearance coincide exactly. More evidence that Jesus is who He said He was....)

Those two sources of information are very convincing. I HIGHLY recommend the video -- it is incredible. Just remember: your job is to present the facts, but allow God to do the work.

Good luck!

Well, first examine and repent from your proud rebellious heart for why you doubt God's Word and ask God for wisdom to understand His Word. God has many ways He can get your attention to convince you. You have many ways you can rebel and ignore those obvious signs. Truly, you can do what many atheists and agnostics and sinners have done and that is call upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ in all sincerity to come into your heart (hopefully before a major crisis or your death bed) and let you know your sins are forgiven and that you are sorry for them. Promise the Lord that if you can know in your heart and feel that burden of sin roll off your shoulders, you will believe that He can do exactly what He claimed He could do and that is save people from their sins. (and that you will tell the world) Surely the witness of true Christians has prompted this question and in your heart of hearts you already know it's true. The best way is to try God at His Word to find Him for yourself. Jesus is the Word made flesh. When He makes you alive unto God by invitation into your heart, you will begin to understand the written Word of God through spiritual eyes. Pray the scales of blindness will be lifted.

The first problem is in convincing anyone that Christ actually said what is conveyed in the Bible.

The second problem is in convincing people that he didn't say the things in the other books that didn't make it into the bible.

The third problem is in convincing anyone that what he said in the Bible is the actual truth.

Basically, if you could convince me that
A: The Bible is historically, morally and ethically true
B: that God does exist
C: that He authored the Bible
D: that it is correctly translated and interpreted
E: that it contains all of the ancient texts it is intended to contain
F: that it contains no texts not so intended
G: that it is properly interpreted and followed today...

With that, I might be able to consider the tales of Christ, the God-Man.

history , science and experience . change all of that and more .
save yourself; your best friend is your worst enemy

The Bible itself is the principal evidence that Jesus Christ is a historical person. The record in the Gospels is not a vague narrative of events at some unspecified time and in an unnamed location. It clearly states time and place in great detail. For an example, see Luke 3:1, 2, 21-23.

The first-century Jewish historian Josephus referred to the stoning of “James, the brother of Jesus who was called the Christ.” (The Jewish Antiquities, Josephus, Book XX, sec. 200) A direct and very favorable reference to Jesus, found in Book XVIII, sections 63, 64, has been challenged by some who claim that it must have been either added later or embellished by Christians; but it is acknowledged that the vocabulary and the style are basically those of Josephus, and the passage is found in all available manuscripts.

Tacitus, a Roman historian who lived during the latter part of the first century C.E., wrote: “Christus [Latin for “Christ”], from whom the name [Christian] had its origin, suffered the extreme penalty during the reign of Tiberius at the hands of one of our procurators, Pontius Pilatus.”—The Complete Works of Tacitus (New York, 1942), “The Annals,” Book 15, par. 44.

With reference to early non-Christian historical references to Jesus, The New Encyclopædia Britannica states: “These independent accounts prove that in ancient times even the opponents of Christianity never doubted the historicity of Jesus, which was disputed for the first time and on inadequate grounds by several authors at the end of the 18th, during the 19th, and at the beginning of the 20th centuries.”—(1976), Macropædia, Vol. 10, p. 145

Read the Bible and have an open mind.It sure takes a lot of faith to believe that we are here as a result of random chance/evolution. There are many good books by skeptics and others who looked into this and changed their minds. "The New Evidence that demands a Verdict" is a good book as is "More than a Carpenter" - both by Josh McDowell. Have an open mind and be willing to look at it that question about Jesus seriously.

You can not do anything of God unless you are of God.
The Holy spirit is the one that will confirm who Jesus is,not any human. All another person can do is to testify to you about who Jesus is.The seed is planted, but whose seed is it?
The Holy Ghost will bring scriptures alive and will confirm Jesus as the Christ. God made flesh. With out that confirmation,to another Christian you are neither saved nor do you have the Holy Ghost.

The cold hard truth is - not everyone is going to accept Jesus Christ, period. Its just that way. The Bible says plainly that the road to hell is a broad one and its filled with sinners..., while the road to eternal life is a narrow one and few will travel that road.

Once you accept that not everyone will accept Jesus and ignore the warnings, also ignoring the promise of better things.., the better follower of Jesus Christ you become. We cant force people to be religious - it just does not work that way. God wants "WILLING" hearts, not those who reject him.

Even so, its not up to you or myself to decide who will or will not accept Jesus. We should make the knowledge available and remember its up to the will of the hearer to accept or reject.

And you cant waste your time on people who just continually argue with you. It takes up time that you can use in discussing the matter with someone who genuinely wants answers. We need to be smarter than to waste our time on someone who does not want Jesus.
