They aren't. Per people mile, they pollute far less than any other vehicles, (except bicycles) and use a lot less fuel. If you live on a bus route, you cannot drive, insure, and park a vehicle, even a small one, for the cost of bussing it to work or school. I drive to work, but if a bus route existed, I would definitely use it, as I have in other places I worked.

i used to take the bus for 2 years to school and work. Its slow, it takes an hour just to go 15 minutes and you cant depend on it because i've been late for work because the bus was late. I glad i have a car now.

they are very slow and annoying and they get very crowded and smelly and very unsanitary. then again, most public transportation is the same way. but at least subways or trains are much faster
