I want to say "We should take the bus", so I asked some people and they all said to say it "Debemos tomar el autobús", but "deber" is "to owe" right? So why would you say "We owe to take the bus"?

I think that you better take a taxi.
If I am not mistaken, the word "spring" means
1 - The season of the year,
2 - A twisted piece of metal,
3 - A water source,
4 - The action of jumping, or
5 - The jump itself, right ?
The word "lead" means
1 - To guide, to conduct
2 - A very heavy metal
3 - A clue in a police investigation
4 - To cover something with lead
5 - A belt- like thing to put on a dog, right ?
I could go on, on , and on. Then, why are you surprised ?

Deber means "to owe" when used alone. When it proceeds another verb, it means "should or ought to".

It's not a direct translation, it's more like we "have" to take the bus, we are "required" to take the bus, we "ought" to take the bus, something like that.
