People are animals. At least they are not plants or rocks. But lower animals, like dogs or worms, cannot think as people do, so it is like asking what the sound of silence is. It is a meaningless question to ask what lower animals would think if they could think like people. They wouldn't be lower animals if they could do that.

animals, depending on the kind or species, don't think on a large scale.

bugs have automatic orders by the entire swarm or the single leader to do things. like collect food, defend home, etc.

rodents are quite random despite the search for food. they are curious

reptiles look for heat, food, and sometimes water. if there is an invader, they think of different ways to attack or defend

domesticated animals want to stay with the large group and sometimes wander off out of curiousity.

pet animals crave getting out of cages or tanks. if they are not in one, they tend to try to be friendly with their owners. or they try to escape if the owner is bad. food is not a problem. they might think about where to get a mate

birds just worry about getting food for their children, teaching them how to fly, and when to fly south (etc.)

feral beasts (bears, primapes, large cats) take care of the family and only thinks about other stuff when they have free time.

fish are random when not getting food

hove animals stick with the herd, get food, and take care of each other and children

humans sometimes think too much

I do not think that animals think that far in advance. Studies have shown that most only have memories for a few years...for insects only a few minutes. Animals DO think though..so let's treat them in that fashion....animal abusers are just as bad as rapists imo.

My fat orange cat thinks he's my son.
My fat grey cat thinks I should carry him back in the house when it's raining.
My fat black cat thinks it should be alright if he kills the other cats and has all my affection to himself.
My dog thinks she is the alpha cat (because she KNOWS I'm the alpha-dog).
My rabbit thinks he rules the universe.
