I am sorry to say but once a cheater, always a cheater. I wouldn't spend time wondering why she cheated, but would instead spend your time, moving forward towards who you are supposed to meet next.

so when you talked to her, what did she say.
Did you find out from a reliable source or from one of your ex's trying to get you back.
Make sure you have your facts straight if you do , confront her about what you found out and see what her response is.
Maybe this guy was abusive and she was afraid to break up with him and was hoping he would dump her.
You never know until you ask her.

Nothing. If you two aren't over, then dump her. If you are, deal with it and move on. There's absolutely nothing you can do at this point. She did the deed, now you need to deal with it and move on.
