I'm a guy and I was invited to a sweet sixteen at an upscal place. the invitation said "semi-formal: black and white attire" I think they are oposites, so i dont know what to wear. Any help?

-Black suit, (pants and jacket)
-White collared dress shirt under the jacket
-Silver tie would probably go the best, unless you have a date then match her dress
-And black dress shoes.

Any more help let me know, I've been to more of these things than I could ever begin to count. And have funn =]

I think that probably means "black tie", which is a dark tux with white shirt and black tie. You might be able to get away with a dark suit, white shirt, and tie. Have fun!

semi-formal means coat and tie. black and white means a dark suit and white shirt wirth a tie to match the occasion, that is not something loud like a fish tie. a subdued, solid colored tie is best.
