A proper diet is the best way to lose weight naturally and keep it off. You have to eat a varied adequate and balanced diet. Your body needs all kinds of food to function properly including fat in smaller quantities though. Your body needs the nutrients and vitamins in fruits and vegetables the most, that is what you should eat the most of (at least 5 servings a day). You also need protein, and a little fat. Reduce your intake of sweets, fried food and foods that contain a lot of fat. Don't drink too many alcoholic beverages or soft drinks (they have a lot of calories). Don't go to sleep right after you eat. And finally exercise at least 3 to 4 days a week for about 45 minutes.Good luck. You can also get more information about nutrition from this site:

The fastest way I know is to actually nurse the baby and eat a normal diet without adding extra calories for nursing. Then keep taking the prenatal vitamins so you know you are covered for all the nutrition. Nursing a baby requires at least another 500-1000 calories per day. Normal exercise to tighten up the muscles also adds to a calorie drain, helping tighten things back up as well. And since you have to drink so much water to nurse, you feel full between meals. The calorie deficit from the nursing helped me drop 20 pounds after my first, and I ended up weighing less than when I got pregnant to start with. I've lost after each child, just by nursing- no special diet at all. After 6 kids, I still weigh what I did when I graduated from high school. So nurse, and enjoy the regular diet.

1st let me say congrats to you on becoming a mommy !!
I guess I would recommend nursing as much as possible because producing milk burns a lot of calories!!
Also, just basic healthy eating habits and regular movement, walking is the best!!
Any small exercise while watching TV will help too.
Don't become a couch potato !!
Good luck with all of it !!
