We took him to get his vaccinations and get de-wormed two days ago around 2 pm, later than night he has a long worm hanging out of his butt then his next 2 stools had worms in them. So far he hasnt passed any more. They were pretty long and round (What my mother said)
Im concerned, is it just that the medicine worked, or should we take him to the vet?

When a puppy or dog is wormed...the worming medicine will help kill the remaining worms that the dog has in it's system. What you are seeing are dead worms being excreted from the dog. It sounds as though your dog had round worms (from the description). You will see these dead worms in the next couple stools that are passed. You want to make sure that your dog was de-wormed for all types of worms, not just the kind that you noticed. If not, you may still see different types of worms in the stool. Contact your vet and make sure that your dog was de-wormed for rounds, whips, hooks, and tapeworms. But it is very normal to see the worms in the stool after a de-worming. If you are still concerned...call the vet to make sure.

The medicine did it's job. However, with an infestation that bad there may still be eggs waiting to hatch inside the dog. Worm her again in a month, or according to your vets instructions...

Well, you had him dewormed. This is normal. The worms are dying and are exiting. This is what happens when animals are dewormed. Nothing to worry about.

the dewormer worked. congratulations. you may want to get the cat dewormed again in a month or so just to make sure they are all gone and any eggs that may have been hanging around. clean the litter box completely everyday for a little bit so he does not reinfect himself until you are sure they are all gone.
