I wouldn't say this entire world...but defintely America. Yes, it's ridiculous and gets you nowhere. There are so many good looking, rich and miserable people.
I travelled to India, Burma, and Thailand in October...and I met so many families that had literally no money, but were very happy.
One thing I've learned is that treating people well, helping the less fortunate, helping true friends, etc....always comes back to you. Although I earn much more than I did 10 yrs ago, it hasn't made me any happier.

Are you saying that a decent human being cannot also be attractive and rich?
Are you really prepared for what I think. You asked me what I think. Are you open-minded for my answer?
1.Anyone who ruins their appearance and health by overeating - does not deserve my respect. -- There fat bodies indicate that they are self indulgent, short sighted, and eventually will become a burden on society.
2. Anyone who has no money does not deserve my respect. - That person has been self indulgent, wasted their money on foolish temporary things, live pay day to pay day, and blame fate on their unfortunate circumstances. - Have you ever heard the story of the three little Pigs?

That is so true. Have you ever watched Dr 90210? It's a faintly amusing show. I do like it when they show someone who seriously needs plastic surgery just to make them look human...like when they do the work for free...that is good. But there was a woman who in my opinion looked great but she wanted butt implants to give her a bigger butt. She did have a flat butt but she was 42 and looked about 30. People are so obsessed with looks it's insane.

You need to meet different people. Far more of the world is just trying to find the next meal and a little bit of shelter. Try a Rotary Club meeting, for "Service above Self."

I'm afraid that the world has always been this way.
The only thing that changes over time is the criteria about "what's hot and what's not"...of course, money is always "in".
It was the same in Jesus' day...and, I'm afraid, it's gonna be this way till the end of time.

That is what we get for living in a Capitalistic society. Yay Communism (jk). Its just another thing we have to live with. Try to block it out and keep worshipping the Lord.

Many people are only concerned with those things on the surface level, those same people are deeper than they appear and if given a chance will prove it.

I agree completely with your assessment. Our society is so deteriorated that people is regarded only according to their wealth.
Young people like you is what this world needs. At least I am sure that our young ones are not as lost as I thought there were. Thanks for giving me hope.
