The men who wrote the Bible wanted a Flood story, since most other religions have one.

Divine entities do not interfere with man that is god let other instruments or way to lead man to think for themselves the solution for the problem. The dark elements and good force had agreed only to send out representatives or elements to warn them or help them..it's like spoonfeeding the WILL of man if god stick his tongue out to eliminate evil..you know the former ArchAngel Lucifer went to hell because as an angel, he thought he has a Will and make decisions by himself and disobey god, unlike the divine entities, we humans can decide still where we can go.

NO!!!!!!! ugh....look, God had a massive flood to clean the Earth of all evil, because men were being bad. the flood represents baptism, getting rid of the old and making of the new. God only saved 8 people in the whole world. the men who were still faithful to him, then had him gather 2 of every animal.

He did not need it, it was out there and more popular than his little scroll, so he nicked the story (gilemesh epic) re-wrote it, then sued the Sumarians for copywright infringment.

He tried to sue the Babalonians as well, for several stories he had nicked from them, tree of life, the Devil, ect, but they just enslaved his folks, and burnt down his shop (temple) so he started a new franchise, son and wife heading different departments, soon he got a saleman called Mohammad in to handle the folks who he had missed.

The symbolization of the great flood, in my opinion, is: The water represents all the tears this world has shed, due to sin.
God was showing us how devastating sin is.
God Bless You....Peace.

It was a forshadowing of things to come. It showed how the ones who trusted in the ONE TRUE GOD and had faith in Him were protected. So that is what those who trust Him now can hope for. It is a promise shown to us thousands of years ahead of us.

Or for that matter, an ark. He could have just made everything float in the sky and that way Noah wouldn't have to clean out all that elephant dung.
