Dry and/or greasy skin due to poor oil composition of the skin. Thick greasy oils clog pores, lack of oil leads to dryness and irritation. You need thin oils to moisturize while dissolving and clearing gunk in your poors. Try fish oil or seafood. 2 tsp fish oil a day or 4 servings of seafood a week. Stick it out for at least 2 months; it will take a long time to replace all your oil. Any effect after 1-2 days is temporary or random; so even if it makes you break out a little at first, you haven't given it a full try yet.

In the short term you can wash and moisturize well, but that will only go so far. Plus excessive washing can be drying and excessive moisturizing can be clogging. Use a small amount of a light moisturizer, made with oil not jelly or grease. Often that means soybean oil or mineral oil. Mineral oil means mined from the ground. So soybean oil is usually better, though mineral oil won't cause too much harm. Clean with soap and water, not a harsh acne cleanser. Even then they only work so well. So you really need the seafood.

Antibiotics aren't really good for bacteria long term, they'll come back in force after. Short term they may help. After you get off them find some kefir with acidophilus listed first or 2nd to replace the friendly bacteria they destroyed. Studies show less illness when you have these bacteria, even outside the stomach in places such as the lungs and elsewhere. You want friendly bacteria to fill the void when the antibiotics stop, not harmful ones.

In the short term you might also try 100,000+ iu retinol vitamin A (a megadose, and too much for normal use) or one of the acne drugs that is similar to retinol vitamin A. It's some minor harm to your organs, but it helps against bacteria on your skin. At least it doesn't have the other long term drawbacks to your skin that antibiotics and many scrubs do.

If you would like to learn how to treat your acne permanently and regain your health and wellbeing, without drugs, without typical acne treatments, and without any side effects, then this will be the most important letter you will ever read.

You have a sort of super zit coming on. Apply moist heat to the spot by heating a damp washrag in the microwave to as hot as you can take it, and holding it on the spot until it cools off. Repeat this as many times a day as you can, and try to get a steam facial in as well. It will turn very red and angry looking before it forms the whitehead, and likely get painful. Do not be tempted to squeeze it or poke at it, this could rupture it under the skin and turn it into a real mess, making matters worse. Don't put lotions or such on it, the skin is quite capable of handling the infection without assistance from you other than the heat. With luck within a few days, you will see the whitehead form on top. Keep putting on the heat, and it will drain on it's own. When it starts to drain, you can apply very gently pressure to the area to encourage it to drain completely- but do not use a pin or other sharp object to poke the skin. After it drains, clean the skin with some witch hazel and apply a tiny bit of tea tree oil to the spot to encourage it to heal. If you don't poke or mess with it, it will usually drain within 2-3 days, and heal much quicker afterwards. Alcohol will just dry the surrounding skin out, it won't do anything for that spot. Other potions will just aggrivate things. Pressing it will spread the infection to other pores in the area, and poking it will do the same. So leave it be, apply heat, and wait it out. And don't try massive amounts of makeup to cover it up- that will makes things even worse. Also keep your hands away from it unless you are putting on the heat. The bacteria which are causing it can be spread by your hands to other spots on the face, making even more breakouts. Sorry, there isn't a magic fix other than time and patience.

I don't know if your skin is oily or dry--but my skin is excessively oily. I use a facial scrub almost everyday since I am acne prone. When I use a scrub at least 3 times a week I don't get pimples or bumps that are usually caused by dead skin cells not being removed so they build up and trap oil underneath. Try a scrub and a mild toner or astringent to restore you skin's pH balance and remove any remaining oils. I also splash my face with cold water to close my pores after washing. Wait at least 30 minutes before applying a moisturizer because sometimes you may not need it where you may be using it. Also, only use non-comedogenic products because they don't clog the pores.

I hate those "subterranean" zits. It'll eventually either come to a head or it'll just sort've dissolve and go away. Try keeping a warm compress on it. That'll increase the blood flow to the area and maybe that'll help it come to a head.

OK - like this is gross - like but - i deaden the area with oral anesthetic liquid on a q-tip (same stuff the dentist uses before he sticks the needle in your mouth) Then - like this is the gross part here. I pierce that thing with a sewing needle and then squeeze that white stuff out before the pimple gets to form. It is gross and yucky but it works and I don't get a big goober of a pimple.

If it's like a huge pimple that doesn't go away, it might be a cyst, which can be either drained or removed by a doctor or surgeon.

Don't pop it!! Leave it alone. I get these occasionally and they usually just go away on their own without forming a whitehead.
