There is actually a type of worm that drills holes out through the throat; there is also a form of ringworm that can have complications that causes nodules on the skin; it could be the early signs of mange... but bumps like this could be caused by a large range of things.

This site has a lot of excellent information on skin conditions:

Well I have a half Arabain and half Saddlebred show horse and he gets bumps just like that. All over and like, 15-20 on him. We thought for awhile that it was bug bites and then decided that maybe he was allergic to something. He is very sensitive and his skin will dramatically react to certain things. Is there anything around that you have new in your house? A spray, etc? Something different? Also, it could just be bug bites, but it seems like he wouldn't get them just like that. Are you putting him out more often or walking him in a new area? Any new dogs around? Think about all of those types of situations. Also if you can't afford to spend money on the vet, just call your local vet and ask what could possibly be wrong. They will give you advice. Once my mastiff ate a catus will vey large thorns and we called the vet and they told us to feed her a lot of bread and that it would coat the insies of her stomach and intestines and keep the thorns from poking through. She surprising did just fine! And do a little more research online besides for this site. Also if your dog is having an allergic reaction to something you can give him childrens benedryl. My grandfather gives his dog that because she breaks out in itchy hotspots. Maybe some of that will give you a few ideas. Good luck!

If your vet doesn't know what it is, you need to find a new vet for a second opinion. Also, if your vet didn't already give it to you, you need to call up and ask for Animax. It is an antibiotic ointment that will help until blood results come back.....overall, this sounds pretty bad. I really hope it isn't cancer....the fact that the white blood count is high shows that there is some type of infection....but it is pretty vague. There are several reasons why your dog could have the hematomas, and your vet really needs to take a sample of the fluid directly from one of the lumps to conduct thorough testing.

did the vet do a fine needle aspirate? (take fluid from the lump with a needle) you should find a vet and/or a lab that can do that. if that does not tell you anything ask to get a biopsy- take a chunk of the lump and have that tested. also should have blood work done. unfortunately.... it really does not sound good.

I hope this isnt the case, but I'd make sure your dog doesn't have either a fatty tumor or is in ealry stages of lymphatic cancer. I have a 4 month old Great Dane adn we are currently hoping that it is a fatty tumor and not lymphatic. Rare in puppies, so we are hopefull. Some of the symptoms you are describing do sound like what we were asked. Good luck.

Try another vet that may help diagnose your dog quicker. Until then, look for homeopathic rememedies you can use at home to help with the energy and digestion. Get natural dog foods and vitamins to help pep him up. Natural is almost always better because it lets the dog's body work without chemical interference. Good luck.
