I never do anything right. Like when I was little (10) my mom bought me a Valentine's present and i found it in her trunk, I wasn't snooping i was looking for my pillow. She told me it was mine and I was so upset.

First off, if the first example of doing something wrong was from when you were TEN, I'd hardly call that you "never do anything right." I could list any number of things I've done wrong in the past few hours, let alone the past few years.

Second, making mistakes like that isn't a symptom of ADD. In fact, it's not a symptom of anything except being a human being. ADD effects your ability to focus on things. People with ADD tend to rush through things, and may make more careless errors because of it, but they're certainly no more likely than anyone else to happen to see their Valentine's Day present in the trunk of their mother's car.

Third, you didn't anything wrong by seeing the present. You were just unlucky. It happens to everyone sometimes. This year for Christmas, my mom got my dad a gift card to this really expensive restaurant they've never been to. She bought it the day before we left town to be sure he wouldn't see the charge on their credit history since they share a bank account and everything. Only then at the last minute our trip got canceled and my dad happened to check their account history and see the charge. It showed the name of the restaurant, and my dad thought that my mom must have gone without him, and she had to explain that it was supposed to be his Christmas present.

Besides, when I was little, I used to peak into my mom's closet all the time before Christmas to try to see what I was getting. Seeing one present by accident once when you were little really isn't the kind of thing that should haunt you for the rest of your life.

Finally, I don't think you have ADD, but I do think that you have low self-esteem and issues with guilt. If your Catholic the guilt is normal, but otherwise you might benefit from talking to a counselor about it. Not that there's anything "wrong" with you or anything, I think you'd be a lot happier if you could move past thinking that you do things wrong all the time.

Why was that wrong? " Right "is a perception. ADD symptoms have nothing to do with doing things wrong.

Here is a link with a list of symptoms having to do with ADD and ADHD...If you answer yes to a majority..See your Doctor and a psychiatrist to find out if you need medication or behavior modification. If you find that isn't an issue of ADD. Then make an appointment to speak with a therapist. Therapy can help you get a better perspective on any personal issues you may be having.

you was looking for a pillow in her trunk? i'm no doctor, but i'd guess you have ADD (attention defecit disorder) or it could possibly be OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder)
