Because "Meese" or "Meeses" is the plural for "Mouse"
** "I hates meeses to pieces," from Jinx the Cat on Pixie and Dixie cartoons
"Moosies" is the plural of "Moose"
Just found this but the link won't open
"The Twa Moosies (a Scottish tale) as told to Leslie Slape Now in Scotland, a house is called a hoosie, and a mouse is called a moosie..."
So, apparently, "Moosies" has a cross-cultural double meaning.

English is a derivative from a lot of languages.
Goose comes from Middle English goos, from Old English gōs.
Now moose comes from the Eastern Abenaki US Indian tribe word : mos
So the plurals depend on how the original language handles the plural.

Hi there the plural of moose (more than one) is also the word moose. Another example is deer. Our language has many origins for words and I guess that's why we have so many exceptions. Have a great year.
