You're not going to like this. Jello is made of gelatin which usually comes from the boiled up skin and bones of cows and pigs. Then it has flavoring and color added. Yum!

Gelatin is a meat by product. Have you ever noticed that when you cook roast or other meat that you will have that gelled piece of fat? They take that stuff and fry it and add the flavor to it and the sugar and that is gelatin. Sorry if this answer grosses any one out but it is true
