I would hope that Iran does NOT push us to that point, but they are CLOSE.
Because our power and influence in many areas we were elected "The WORLD Police" because the other world "powers" just do not have the resources.
I think the everyone will probably agree that Iran has an unstable government, probable Human Rights issues (two class system), religious fanatics (kill ALL JEWS because they are JEWS) and present an environment hazard.
The whole Middle East is a house of cards just waiting for some guy to launch a strike, everyone WILL retaliate and then we are in WWIII.
N Korea, India and the rest were all open to discussion and issue in on the way to resolution. Did you see the interview on "60 Minutes" with the Iran guy? To me he just seemed like a guy with way TOO MUCH ARROGANCE.
Then you have Chavez spitting in our face and threatening to take over a telecomm company owned by Verison. He is just another idiot too impressed with himself.
The US is just doing it's best to PREVENT large escallation on many fronts.
We have a MAJOR force on the ground in Iraq and that is a definite deterant to some of the "loose canon" governments in the region.
The whole deal is about STABILITY and threat containment in the Middle East.
Sorry for the long answer, but when you ask such broad questions you will get long answers.

Absolutely, the problem is that we dont have the resources to do it right now. Well probably pay Israel to start it and fight them using israel as a proxy just like they have done with hezbollah. Then once their forces are a bit smaller and something bad happens here (staged or not) and there is support and therefore the money, only then will we attack. But i believe it is inevitable.
Oh wait, not if Hilary gets elected. Democrats are to PC to follow through with a war which is deciding the fate of the nation. Losing a war is definately the quickest way to end it. Fu*king liberals openeing our borders and calling our troops baby killers.

Yes, and their won't be nothing left of Iran but a puff of smoke.. Anyone with a drop of sanity knows Iran is no fight for America ... I don't think the good people of Iran would allow anything like that to happen...

Maybe, but not directly. We will not officially declare war with Iran. What will happen is that Iran will present a nuclear threat and Israel will attack Iranian nuclear sites. Iran will then cross the Iraqi border to get through to Israel and we will be forced to protect Israel. I hope that line does not get crossed.

Let's see. Iran is between Iraq and Afghanistan. And we have another air-craft carrier battle group being sent to the region. So yes, I hope so. Rid the world of tyranny! Hugo Chavez is next.

It should but not on its own and not right now. Iran needs to respect the international community.
