The single, best way to impress any one is BY NOT TRYING TO IMPRESS. This lack of desire to impress would say so many more good things about you than any attempt to impress. You shouldn't have to impress a person they should like you for who you are. Don't change the persons mind about you by not being yourself. Be yourself and find the one that likes you for that and let me tell you there is one out there.

True--be yourself, but sometimes, we are all a little insecure and shy, so help is in order.
Try this: think about 3 interesting things to talk to this person about, then pluck up your courage and go talk to him/her. No risk, no reward, right? You can talk about movies, places you've traveled, how much you like their shirt, a great restaurant you just tried--anything! Try to find common ground, like, you both like soccer, and then chat it up!
If you can pull that off, that will be a great impression. Even if you are nervous and stumble over all of your words, he/she will be flattered that you tried!

You shouldn't have to act differently to impress someone. If they don't like you for who you really are, then they're not worth your time.
