While few people give it credit, overall L.A. metro rail is great. I've gone to the city three different times and gotten around exclusively on public transportation. L.A. is actually easier to get around in than many other cities.
The gold line is the newest of the rail lines. It's mostly for commuters and doesn't really go to much of anywhere of touristic interest besides Chinatown. It's clean and convenient, though, and not normally too crowded. It will get you between Pasadena and downtown at least as quickly as driving.
The red line subway is the core of the transit system. If you want to explore Hollywood, this is the best way to get there. You can use it in combination with rapid bus routes to get almost anywhere in the city quickly and easily. The subway can be crowded at times, but it's safe and easy to use.
The other two lines (blue and green) mostly serve poor residential neighborhoods and industrial areas in south L.A. While you're unlikely to be in danger on either of these lines, a lot of tourists (particularly those with any racial prejudice at all) might not be entirely comfortable taking them. I have taken them several times, but I would advise that you want to know where you're going before boarding the blue line. The main reason you might want to take the blue and green lines is to get to or from LAX. It takes about an hour to get from downtown to the airport, and while the ride is likely to be colorful, it is no different than what you'd encounter in other cities.

Are you taking the prepare to Pasadena? truthfully, it may desire to be greater powerful to have somebody drop you off at Union Station or the Rose Bowl. The parking is $10/day, that's for helpful greater value-effective than you parking on the stadium! i do no longer understand how long the Metro takes to get to Pasadena. yet I stay in Downtown l. a., and to force up there with the site visitors, it may desire to take a minimum of an hour. when I used to take the metro from downtown to Hollywood, it took approximately 30 minutes --- yet Hollywood is merely 6 miles away. So, i could say get to Union Station a pair of million to a million.5 hours till now you desire to get to the stadium. make helpful the trains are working, however!!!

It's awesome. The ticket is $1.25 for one way trip. It take about 30 minutes from Union Station to Sierra Madre Villa. There are express trains that only passed some stations. It's great and fast.

its neat and fast and it sure beats the freeway traffic
and if get a day pass its only $3.00 all day
the day pass would also be valid on all other Metro operated
services (the subway, Green Line and Blue line and buses)
just make sure you have your ticket/pass on you
the sheriffs/fare inspectors tickets are a bit more expensive
(if caught with no ticket) like $250 !

I have no idea. Not familiar with it. Isn't it stupid that yahoo answers gives you points for completely worthless answers?
The asker should award points to the answers and give negative points for really bad ones, maybe. On the other hand, in the political sections, most people, me included would only give points to those who agreed with them.
