Merde literally means s**t, as any French speaker can tell you. But why stop there? Here's some more:

Merde means s_hit. F_uck means F_uck.

Most French curse words tend to come from religious issues. Mon estie (My Host). Mon estie de tabarnacle.

There's always Batard! (for bastard) or Salope! (Sl_ut)

You could always say something nasty to a cab driver in Paris. You'll learn a whole bunch of 'em that way.

putain = wh.ore
Tu la putain = You are a ...
Ta mère est une putain = Your mum is a ...
Baise-toi = F*** you
Tu pues comme un tas de chien = You stink like a dog poopoo
Tu es une fausse-couche = You are a freak
crétin, imbécille, idiot, ballourd = stupid person

I only want to help you. Maybe there is something in between that might help you.

merde.....French

mierda....Spanish

Both mean sh_t, they are derived from Latin, not sure how to say it in Latin though.

He was saying "you are sh_t"

A curse word in French.....Try calling someone an American, LOL.

Don't get on my case, ok, I'm just an American with a sense of humor.
