She's not going to die with out food or drink for a week, it takes a really long time to starve to death, but if she end up being full blown anorexic, she could suffer from kidney failure, heart failure, not able to have children, There's lots of consequences, but they are far down the road. I would watch her closely, and if she starts to not eat for very long periods of time, i would tell her mom, because she wont get better by herself. I would wait to see before you get her parents involved, because it could just be a temporary fix for her problems. Getting her parents involved over nothing, may not be a good idea yet. I've been thru this a few times.

Ok, first of all, I'm *not* condoning anorexia, or saying that you shouldn't be worried. I'm just being realistic.
Has she ever done this before? Does she have a pattern of not eating? I'm around 130, and once or twice in the last few years, I've gotten a bit above that. I row, and in order to compete in the lightweight division, I've got to be under 130. So at those times, I've decided not to eat for about a week. But here's the thing; I'm usually not that concerned about my weight, and I don't have an eating disorder. So it lasts for about two days before I give up and start eating normally (in addition to excercise).
I guess what I'm saying is that if she's never done this before, you should give it a couple of days to see what happens. It could just be an empty goal. And not eating for a week... no, she won't die, or probably even get very sick (unless she has a medical condition such as diabetes or acid reflux disease). At the most, she'll be incredibly low on energy and (maybe) pass out, which isn't a huge deal.
Water however... that's serious. She could become seriously dehydrated, and end up in the hospital. And what she doesn't seem to realise is that water helps you lose weight. So you should make sure that you convince her to drink water.
But if this goes longer than a couple of days? Tell a trusted adult. Anorexia is no joke.

Cranberry Juice has water in it because cranberries have water in them so dehydration won't be a problem. The main problem is that cranberry juice has A LOT of sugar in them and if your friend's goal is to lose weight and she plans on drinking ONLY cranberry juice...that might not be the smartest way. For only a week, she won't die but she won't be able to study in school or do things the normally does as well as she would have on a better diet. Your brain needs nutrients to function properly and CJ (just because I'm getting tired of saying cranberry juice XD) doesn't have too many nutrients that your body needs to function properly. Yes it might have antioxidants but with all the processing that the CJ goes through, that stuff will be long gone. Unless she is making the juice herself...its only empty calories.
For more than a week, she will get really sick and unable to function properly. I don't think she will pass out because the sugar will provide energy (or be stored as FAT [which she doesn't want XD]) and eventually go to the hospital for malnutrition......but that will take some time. She won't die if she has people looking after her like you.
~Hope for the best.

Fist of all she won't lose any weight from this diet because her body wouldd think that she's starving so it woul;d stop burning calories and cranberry juice has a lot of sugar in it so that would defiantly not help. She could also end up in the hospital...the best way to lose weight is to eat a little bit but 3 times a day and walk for 30 minutes a day and do other physical activities...please make her stop before she seriously hurt herself.

She could pass out & get pretty sick. Tell her that if she starves herself, the first thing she eats will automatically turn to fat because her body is starving and will save that food as fat as soon as it gets it. That is reality. If she wants to lose weight, she needs to work out and manage her portions. That's not hard at all. Chances are, she won't go that long without eating because she'll eventually just be too hungry to do anything else. If she does do this and continues all this wacky dieting, talk to her parents and let them know what she's doing.

this is serious. try to talk to her about it. if that doesnt work show her the facts. look up some clinics on line and print off the facts. show her some pictures. if you have to scare her into stopping it then do it. if all else fails go to her parents. she might be mad for a little while but most likely later on she will thank you for it. dont worry about her being mad at you because if she ends up gettting hurt from this her and a whole bunch of other pople will be mad at you for not intervining. or wait till about a day or so and see if she is just bluffing. a lot of girls do. if shes not than do something about it. good luck. you need it.

tell her to exercise. starving herself will probably make her feel pretty crappy and she'll most likely get bloated. And, depending on the cranberry juice, it probably has a load of sugar which is probably not the most effective when trying to lose weight. Just tell her to eat healthier, drink lots of water and exercise...but all withing limit. She will definitely feel terrible if she doesn't get food...

have a good talk with her. its not healthy to starve yourself. you only get fatter when you start eating again. tell her to just go on a healthier diet. more veggies and such. less sugar. keep off the cranberry juice and switch to good tasty water. and the key to losing weight is a proper diet and lots of exercise.

she will pass out and sick or perhaps die as well
our bodies need food to survive... its also almost impossible to go without food for that long...
if she wants to lose weight, a better way is by eating right... not not eating... by not eating her body will only become worse...
if there is really a problem, you should call a docter or shrink or something.... good luck
