Depends on severity and location. Strong winds, flash floods or flooding in general, mudslides, hail, icy/slick road conditions, lightening (which has some effects of it's own depending where or who it hits), tornadoes, etc.

It is possible to be connected to the router wirelessly even if your modem has lost the connection due to power issues. Also a surge may have reset the wireless configurations on the router.

be nore spesific about thunderstorms,, cause there can be ones with tornatoes, hail, dmamginf lighting, or there can just but ones with thunder and lightning that don't do anything
