H&R Block usually takes care of the advance loan within a few days, IF it's approved. Their credit criteria are a little strict, and I think the interest rate is high, though I haven't checked what it is this year. If you're not approved, direct deposit taxes filed online this early in the year are usually in your account direct from the IRS in about 2 weeks.

H&R Block has a RAC (refund anticipation check) which will take 8 - 15 days, a RAL (refund anticipation loan) which takes 1 - 2 days, and an IRAL (Instant refund anticipation loan) which issues a check the same day, sometimes the entire refund, sometimes a partial refund with another check following in 1 - 2 days. These are all bank products and have fees, percentages varying depending upon the amount of the refund. Pam Hill - H&R Block tax professional District Director, FL District 12, Fair Tax

When you ask for a RAL in the office it is usually granted in two days. If you ask for the IRAL (instant) if approved, you will receive a portion immediately and the remainder in two days. The RAC takes about two weeks.

I don't know how it works online.
