Yes, there are fees. The sound system, custodian, and wedding coordinator (service coordinator) are required payments. Members are not charged for use of the sanctuary or the pastor. Non members do pay those fees. Other than that, everything else is optional.

There is a standard donation and rightly so, I think. Many people say just about anything in order to have a nice Church wedding to look good in their pictures but, then you never see them again, so yes, they should put something in the kitty for lights, heat, decorations etc.

Yes, we are getting married @ a Catholic church, which charged us $1000. If we had been registered members, then it'd only be $500. Besides the $1000, we have to make a donation and to pay the priest.

When I had gotten married I was not a member of that church. They didn't call it a required charge they called it a donation of $100. that was Methodist. My aunt had gotten married at St. James Catholic church and it was more like $300. It does depend on the church and if you are a member or not the required donation.

No, our Church does not. We have hired a group to clean the Church Building and they are always willing to help when they are needed. We also have a number of young couples who pitchy in when something needs to be done and the deacons are not able to get it done quickly. I am amazed at how GOD's People are always helping others. Have a great week!

Mine doesn't. But I know some that do. My brother had to pay $3,000 to his church for getting married there. I told him that the County Court House was cheaper, (Only $25.00), but he opted to get married in the church and three days later filed for bankruptcy.

I don't know I am getting married in August. And I go to a Buddhist temple... but there is no real Buddhist wedding ceremony... so my friend who is a minister is marrying us... And we are getting married a the zoo... soooooo i dunno if he is representing his church and they are going to ask for a fee. I am offering him money... but he hasn't asked for it. I figure he can donate it to his church.

Not the church I used to go to. They did them in the pastor's back yard.

Some do, but traditionally they're not suppose to ask, but they are suppose to accept a donation when offered.
