It has been said that Iran is working on nuclear weapons, although Iran denies this.

Many experts say that Iran could have these weapons in as little as three years.

U.S. military officials have said that to stop Iran's development of nuclear weapons would be no small task. It would take at least 1000 sorties.

Israel would not likely tolerate a nuclear armed Iran. They would strongly consider using military means - if need be - to stop Iran from obtaining these weapons.

Would Israel have the capability to stop Iran from developing nuclear weapons without entering into a war that would guarantee their own demise? Or, at least, a protracted war that would bring massive damage against their own country?

This is a task that even the U.S.A. says would be very difficult.

So could Israel do it?

Only if they had A LOT of US support. Israel would need: a lot of US bunker buster bombs, US refueling mid air tankers, possible US of US airfields in Iraq, US search and rescue teams, maybe even US planes and if any Muslim/Arab country found out that Israel attacked Iran that could mean big trouble for both Israel and the US.

There is no chance that Israel or the USA can move in to Iran and wipe out the theocratic republic. The reason is that if Israel declares war on Iran, good old Iran will send their best friend Seyyed Shaikh Nasrullah of Hezbollah to give Israel a heavy beating. And, as we saw during the summer, Israel is no match against Hezbollah. As for the US, they are pinned down on Iraq. Now, America can go for limited assaults on Iran. The only consequence is that Iran would contact their shiite allies in Iraq to attack American forces. Basically, Iran has many allies to protect herself and neither Israel or America can stop that.

They say they only want power,we should at LEAST prove different before people get killed,Y'all.as an attack on that country will stir up things and we all will one day be in a war of civilizations, and that's a fact.who will be next? China?N.Korea?India?Pakistan? Russia?who will dare say they don't like us or Israel? will we go to war with them when they say they don't like us ?

Israel can do it but the results would be catastrophic on a world scale. Israel would need military help fighting off Iran and her paramilitary forces.

First, Iran doesn't deny ****. They say its purpose is peaceful, they don't deny they aren't working on weapons. There is a difference between denial and trying to divert the answer.

Israel could pull it off, with a deep-penetrating tactical nuke or two.
