What drivel! No one protested outside the White House pressuring anyone to prevent a cease-fire.
You are either making this up of your own imagination, or are drinking from one of the internet Kool-Aid drinking conspiracy sites.
It never happened.
UPDATE: Not that I really trust Al-Jazeera as a reliable news source, I did read the article. What you stated in your question, versus what the article stated, are not the same. According to the article, the Christians didn't demonstrate in front of the White House, nor did they try to "rush disaster," nor "pressure the President for no cease fire." They did ask the President "not to restrain Israel in any way in the pursuit of Hamas and Hezbollah." (Cited from the article directly.) It never said that Israel was ready for a cease fire or that the President told them to avoid one.
I also checked MSNBC and CNN (I view them like I do Al-Jazeera, but I digress...) and I didn't find any articles supporting your contention. Evangelicals do support Israel. And you must forget that the reason Israel went after Lebanon was over the kidnapping of their soldiers, who still haven't been released. All the cease fire did was encourage the Islamists that kidnapping works.

I don't know your definition of 'evangelical', but I am a Christian and would want to know the exact news source of your statement. Assuming it is accurate and I am understanding it correctly, these people who demonstrated to keep the war going (I believe you're saying), are not living the word of God, which says 'be at peace as much as you are able'. War is terrible, but is sometimes necessary to defend one's country, or to defend someone weaker. I certainly don't agree, either, with the 'Ghandi-esque' take on conflict as 'peace at all costs' and laying down and letting people have their way on you...especially as a woman. I believe war hurts God's heart, but because every single human on earth is selfish at heart (we are all out for ourselves first, no matter how magnanimous we may want to think we are), every one of us is capable of war. There will come a time--in GOD'S timing, not ours--where he will intercede and put an end to all war and bring peace to earth by ruling and reigning in Jerusalem. If anyone bothers to look at the history and timeline of wars from, say the beginning of the 20th century on, they would see a distinct rise in the frequency and intensity of war, as the bible predicted, the 'birth pangs' (Matt. 24). No little group can influence that. It was already written. Despite the wars (and there are hundreds going on right now; not just one well-publicized one) and crooked politicians (of BOTH parties!), we do not have the real story on anything. To rely on the liberal media for news is naiive, and to think that even the subjects speaking to that news media are telling the truth is even more questionable. People need to quit blaming one man and start looking at ourselves...and start shaping our own selves up and quit being so pissed off at each other...LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR!

I don't just blame the politicians, evangelists, or Americans. These two groups have been warring for many many years and evidentally will continue to do so. I do not think that we should be in the skirmish at all but I am not in charge any more than you are. GOD will judge in HIS TIME. Have a great week.

Personally, I think they are all just itching for armageddon. If you'll excuse the vulgarity, violence gets them hard (especially if there is plenty of blood involved).
