God loves all people, even the pope. He doesn't, however, like the things he may be doing. There have been blasphemies, and heresies come from the papacy. These men are human and as such inherit evil just like every other human. We like to think that the pope is held to the highest standard human beings hold, but that has not been since the second Vatican council. There are some dangerous men who have great influence on decisions made at the Vatican. So to answer your question, No, I believe God does not approve of the pope.

Like any man, the pope must answer to God at the end of his life and make an accounting. I guess it would be pretty well documented, so there would be lots of evidence for and against. Heh heh. But yeah, until otherwise posted, the pope is there by God's grace alone. We have a pope by a miracle.

Catholics believe that God, in the person of the Holy Spirit, selected the Pope Benedict XVI through the inspired votes of the Cardinals at the conclave.
That's a pretty good endorsement.
With love in Christ.

I can't judge the Pope - only God can. But I can tell you that I agree with Luther in that the Pope is NOT Christ on Earth nor is he infallible. I agree with Luther that confession via priests, including the Pope, is not necessary - the only intercessory necessary is Christ Jesus.

The answer is No.
The Pope is unnessessary. The only way to heaven, to God, is the Son, Jesus Christ.
