Weight watchers does work. It is the only program that has any success rate for people keeping the weight off for 10+ years.
The loss depends on the person. It is usually 2-5 lbs., although I've seen as high as 8. I reached my goal of losing 40 lbs. in 5 months. It wasn't hard at all. Learning portion control alone and better choices made it not feel like I was depriving myself.
The only down side is that the Weight Watcher brand food (which you don't need to buy) is expense. Just get a point calculator and you are all set.
